Before
- Use the contact form to provide some basic details of your wedding and receive notification within 48 hours of availability. - Read and sign the T's&C's and pay a 20% deposit to secure your booking (40% for weddings outside of Auckland). - Four to six weeks before your special day, You will receive a pre-event questionnaire, followed by consultation where we will go through colours, poses, scenery and any special requests you may wish to discuss. - Full payment, including any travel costs (see FAQs) will be due two weeks before the big day.
During
- I will need access to the venue two to three hours prior to commencement of the ceremony to set up and begin painting the wedding venue. - After the ceremony, I will take you aside for a mini photoshoot to capture your pose. - Throughout the rest of the reception, I will continue painting while guests are welcome to pop in at any time to watch the progress. There will be lights and cameras set up at my station. - At the end of the night, you will have the chance to see the near-finished product before it goes back to the studio for finishing touches.
After
- Work will continue on your portrait at the studio for up to six weeks, depending on size and complexity. - Before applying the protective varnish, a photo will be sent to ensure that you are 100% satisfied with the painting. - Once completed, I will notify you to arrange shipping or collection of your new portrait!
Frequently asked
Do you travel?
Yes! Though I am based in Auckland, it would be my pleasure to travel to your wedding venue. For weddings outside of Auckland (north of Warkworth and South of Pukekohe) travel fees will apply and depending on time and location, may include accommodation. Get in touch to see what I can do for you!
What other services do you offer?
If you prefer a portraits of your guests, flower bouquet, wedding venue or church, getaway car, or gifts, these can also be painted live or from photos. I also accept commissions for family and pet portraits, illustrations (traditional or digital) to be used for wedding stationary and memorabilia. Available media include acrylic, oil, watercolour and pencil/ graphite. If you can name it, I can paint it!
Can you ship the finished painting to me?
Yes! Ensuring that your new artwork is delivered in pristine condition is paramount to me (and to you, I'm sure!). If you are based in Auckland, you can choose to collect the completed art from the studio. National and international delivery is available, using only hand-processed courier options (subject to fees).
I'm still trying to decide... can you hold my date?
Due to limited availability, bookings will only be confirmed upon payment of a deposit. To avoid disappointment, please get in touch as soon as possible!
What if I need to cancel?
I know, life sometimes throws curveballs at us! If your wedding gets delayed or cancelled for reasons outside of your reasonable control, I will try my very best to accommodate a change of date. However, if an alternative date is not available, you will be offered a painted wedding portrait from a photo with a 15% courtesy discount. Full T's&Cs can be viewed prior to confirming your booking.
